A few more recommendations for your reading list.

First, a couple of great books about two of the greats of French cycling.

Sex, Lies & Handlebar Tape: The Remarkable Life of Jacques Anquetil by Paul Howard (iTunes or Amazon)

The Badger: Bernard Hinault and the Fall and Rise of French Cycling by William Fotheringham (iTunes or Amazon).

Another book by William Fotheringham is his excellent Tom Simpson biography: get it on iTunes: Put Me Back on My Bike – William Fotheringham, or on Amazon.

For something more contemporary, there’s David Millar’s The Racer.

Fotheringham’s biography of Fausto Coppi is also well worth a look. Fallen Angel: The Passion of Fausto Coppi.

Get it on iTunes or Amazon.

To learn more about cycling’s great champion, read Merckx: Half Man, Half Bike again by William Fotheringham @willfoth

Get the book in time for xmas on Amazon or iTunes.
